Why/Details:

Join us for food, fellowship, and fun at the 2nd annual WDSR Summer Member Appreciation Party. This event is FREE $0 to club members. This MEMBERS ONLY event is sponsored by the WDSR board and Membership Committee to show gratitude to our membership for all the volunteerism and hard work throughout the year. This is also an opportunity to make new friendships while enjoying the sport of motorcycling.

CAMPING:  Tamarack Springs Campground is located 0.5 miles north of County Trunk S, west of US HWY 45 in Conover, WI. The campground consists of 9 primitive campsites. All 9 campsites are reserved under Wisconsin Dual Sport Riders/Julie Vandre. Similar to last year, we will need to share campsites but there is plenty of room to do so. We expect members can self-organize upon arrival to fit everyone in.

Each campsite includes a fire ring with attached grill and picnic table. There is no electricity, newer pit toilets, and pump water available. Most campsites are located on the east side of Tamarack Creek, which runs north to south through the campground. Campsites #7, #8, #9 are located on the west side of the creek, near the picnic area. Members should plan accordingly.

FOOD/BEVERAGES: We are looking for volunteer cooks to man the grill for brats, hotdogs, and burgers to feed the group dinner on Saturday night. Water, chips, and condiments will also be provided. Members can bring sides to share, desserts, ice, and beverage of choice.

Friday dinner, breakfasts, and lunches for all days will be the responsibility of individual members.

RIDING: The Tamaracks OHM trail system is a single-track trail system that offers 22 miles of different levels of rider experience. The Green Loop is a beginner to family friendly rider loop that is regularly maintained. The Blue Loop steps up the challenge with more features and a tighter trail tread. The Black Loop is designed for the experienced rider, slow and technical with rocks and log features just for fun!

This single-track trail system is for both limited use (dirt bikes) and Dual Sport motorcycles. To ride on this trail system a Wisconsin DNR OHM Permit is required. Visit the DNR’s website for more information.

All rides are self guided and many members self organize based on distance, bike, and skill. Hundreds of miles and options of fabulous dual sport motorcycling are available. Here is a link to Advrider where Bryan Much edited a bunch of tracks to start and end at the Tamaracks Campground:

Like last year, Greg Cook (local superstar who built the Tamaracks) has offered to lead a dual sport ride Sunday morning. Stay Sunday if you can, it was the highlight for many who rode Sunday last year.
